Lo Han Sweetener
Sweet Health Cookies use a sweetener that is derived from the Lo Han fruit.
The fruit is revered in Chinese medicine as a treatment for many ailments, but most importantly it tastes amazing and (unlike other sweeteners) does not raise blood sugar or contribute to digestive problems*. Over the last few years stevia has become a popular ‘safe’ sweetener, but its use in baking is very limited and it can often taste bitter. The Lo Han fruit is sweet and delicious, and while it is a bit harder to bake with, we tired endless recipes and eventually all our trial and error paid off. Enjoy our delicious and naturally sweetened cookies!
